More than 400 million
people speak Spanish as their mother tongue and for daily conversation. The
Spanish-speaking world, particularly in the United States, is gaining increasing importance, in terms of both culture and
economy. It is therefore not surprising that young people from all over the
world want to learn Spanish, as an important aspect of their education and a
factor of qualification, or as a tool for cultural exchange with a significant
part of the population. Also business people who want to survive in this world
of globalisation are in growing need of Spanish-speaking staff to communicate
with a highly promising market.
Spanish is a relatively
easy language to learn. Phonetics is easy and so is spelling; verbs can be
