The city of Burgos (161,984 inhabitants) is a very
active city, surrounded by industry, and a major hub of communications for the
north of Spain.
The history of the city of Burgos dates
back to the 10th century. It is located in an area where the
northern edge of the Spanish Meseta meets the foothills of the Iberian System. Burgos was
founded by Count Diego Rodríguez Porcelos by order of King Alfonso III the
Great of Asturias.
